In an attempt to retain its position as a No.1 data network in Pakistan, Zong seems to be gearing up to step up its game. It is recently reported that the wireless network giant has joined hands with a renowned bank in Pakistan, Silk Bank, in order to form a strategic partnership.
The two companies signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the provision of Zong’s Mobile Broadband (MBB) devices to Silkbank in a bid to enable the credit card customers of bank and its employees to get the MBB devices with upfront purchase of 12 months bundles. Also, it is pertinent to note that the offer is only to the customers that use Zong Bolt, Bolt + and Bolt Ultra devices.
Moreover, the move will likely help Zong in expanding its services in key industry sectors of Pakistan, such as banking, healthcare, transportation. Also, the strategic partnership will also help Zong in expanding its product portfolio.
For those who are not familiar, Zong continues to maintain its market leader position in 4G with its overall coverage in 300 cities nationwide and mustered 75% 4G market share.
Over the past few months, Zong has been making much efforts to entice more users to join its platform. For instance, the company recently announced in its official press release that it is planning to upgrade all its sites to 4G by the end of the current fiscal year.
