We got a great news for all the Xiaomi lovers in Pakistan who are desperately waiting for the Apple of China to set foot in the country’s smartphone market. It is reported that Xiaomi is planning to officially launch its smartphones in Pakistan on Monday, 20th February, 2017.
In partnership with SmartLink Technologies, Xiaomi will launch its smartphones in the country and is already sending invites for the launch event, which will be held at Serena Hotel, Islamabad. Zong and Daraz.pk are also listed as launch partners.
Moreover, it seems that Xiaomi is pretty serious towards positioning itself as a dominant force in the country’s tech ecosystem as it is also planning to launch full range of its eco products including power banks, Bluetooth speakers, headsets and other accessories.
Xiaomi’s smartphones were previously sold in the country through an online shopping platform, CheezMall. However, Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has imposed a ban on the Chinese smartphone manufacturer last year for selling smartphones without seeking its approval.
Nevertheless, PTA has now approved four smartphones of the company including: Xiaomi Mi Max, Xiaomi Mi 5, Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 and Redmi Note 4. The company as of now has not disclosed the prices of its smartphones in the country, but we’ll bring the details to our readers as soon as they are available. It is also worth mentioning that Xiaomi’s smartphones will be retailed in Pakistan along with the official warranty, and support services.
Many analysts predict that Xiaomi will intensify the competition in the smartphone industry of Pakistan. The Chinese manufacturer’s smartphones are already popular in other countries and it is believed that it has the potential to make its mark in Pakistan as well. However, it is still unclear whether Xiaomi will receive the same amount of demand and appreciation in Pakistan as it received in other parts of the world.
