After launching operations in Islamabad and Rawalpindi, Uber again comes in the limelight with the announcement that it plans to expand its services further by launching its operations in Hyderabad. The move seems to be a part of company’s bigger plan to acquire competitive edge over its main rival, Careem.
The competition in Pakistan’s ride hailing industry is soaring as new entrants are penetrating the industry. Quite recently, Jazz, the telecom giant, announced that it has launched its ride hailing service, mLift in Islamabad and Rawalpindi. It will not be an overstatement that this is the perfect time for ride hailing giants to make their mark as the industry is still in its infancy stage.
This would be the fifth city of Pakistan in which Uber started its operations. The company is already operating in Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Islamabad.
“The feedback we have received from our riders in Karachi and Lahore has been phenomenal and our local team is all geared up to expand our reach to more people across the country, and we are thankful to the Islamabad government for closely working with us,” said the regional head of the ride-hailing service.
Moreover, in an attempt to promote their service in the region, the ride hailing giant is planning to offer free credit of worth PKR 500 to the riders in Hyderabad at the onset of its launch. If you’re living in Hyderabad and want to avail the chance of winning discounts, follow the below mentioned steps:
