Uber Launches In Islamabad And Rawalpindi With 5 Free Rides For Everyone

Word has been around that Uber was planning to start its operations in Islamabad and Rawalpindi. The much awaited day is finally here. Pakistan’s second most popular ride-hailing service after Careem, has finally extended its services to Islamabad and Rawalpindi, said the company in a blog post today.

“We are thrilled to announce uberGO is now available in Islamabad, connecting Pakistan’s twin cities to safe, reliable, and affordable rides.”, said the company in a blogpost.

The process to book a ride at Uber is similar to that of any other modern-day, ride hailing service. When you book a ride through Uber mobile app, you will be able to see driver’s current location, photo, license plate and type of car. The company has also launched a new feature called “Share my ETA” which allows passengers to tell their friends and family exactly where they are and how long will it take to get to them.

Moreover, the ride hailing service is giving away five free rides this weekend (from 12pm Thursday, April 27th to 11:59 pm Sunday, April 30th). Those who are interested in using this offer can simply open the Uber app on their phone sand insert promo code “UBERLOVESISB” to get 5 free rides, which worth PKR 250 each.

Many analysts believe that the entrance of Uber in Islamabad and Rawalpindi might lead to further discounts and offers, which are already in place in Karachi and Lahore, being extended to the twin cities. Careem has been operating in twin cities for quite some time now. Being the only ride on-demand service available in Islamabad and Rawalpindi, the majority of discounts and offers are available in twin cities.

In any case, we’ll keep a tab on the upcoming trends of the company to keep our readers updated.
