Despite a series of setbacks, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is working hard to level up its services. For instance, the national carrier recently announced that it has started “online booking and check-in” facilities for its passengers on some domestic routes. The airline plans to extend these services to its whole network.
The news depicts that PIA passengers can now check-in online before arriving at the airport. The airline launched its online booking service on 12th June, 2017. Moreover, this is a non-stop service and passengers can book tickets even 3 hours prior to a scheduled departure.
Moreover, the online check-in service is currently available through PIA’s website and app. The services are currently limited for domestic flights between Lahore, Islamabad and Karachi. The airline revealed that its new services will be implemented on all other domestic and international flights soon.
It is pertinent to note that the passengers will be able to avail the check-in service 24 hours prior to a scheduled departure and up to three hours before the departure time. However, for baggage drop-off passengers have to inform the check-in counter at least 45 minutes prior to departure.
There’s no doubt that PIA is working really hard to sustain its position in Pakistan. The airline is currently working to digitize its system in order to better facilitate its customers. The move will also help the airline to increase its profitability.
