After a gap of almost 25 years, the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) has decided to arrange an international trade fair in the financial hub of the country, Karachi. The main aim of FPCCI behind this move is to boost exports and create more economic opportunities.
For those who are wondering, the Pakistan International Trade Fair (PITF) will be held on October 26 till 29 at Expo Center, Karachi. The news was announced during a media briefing held at FPCCI head office. President FPCCI Zubair Tufail, former president FPCCI S. M. Munir, and member of exhibition committee Haris Mathani provided details about the event during the briefing.
The move is being appreciated by many analysts as it will help in promoting goods produced by local manufacturers and will also help in enticing foreign vendors to consider exporting goods from Pakistan.
Furthermore, FPCCI has booked Hall 1 to 6 in Expo Center for PITF. Hall No. 1 has been allotted to the pharmaceutical and chemical industry and Hall No. 2 has been dedicated for Gwadar and CPEC related stalls. Moving forward, Hall No. 3 has been dedicated to the construction industry. Products of textile industry will be displayed in Hall No. 4, whereas Hall No. 5 and 6 have been allotted to foreign and Chinese firms respectively.
Interestingly enough, media was informed by Haris Mathani that approximately 60% of the floor space has already being booked by companies. Individuals from the corporate sector who hold valid passes will be allowed to attend the fair during the first two days. The general public will be allowed to attend the trade fair during the last two days.
We believe that this is a great initiative as the trade fair is taking place after a long gap. In any case, we’ll continue to track the story to update our readers. In order to keep yourself updated with latest news of Pakistan’s business sector, like our Facebook page.
