Home appliance manufacturer, Orient, recently released a statement regarding breaking previous sales records during the Black Friday weekend, where it offered discounts up to 25% on its product range, such as LED TVs, Water Dispensers, Air-conditioners and Microwaves.
“We were expecting a decent response but this is overwhelming,” explained the company spokesman in the statement, “I guess what was really surprising for us is that we got this response without any marketing muscle. This just goes to show how online shopping has grown over the last few years. It’s encouraging and terrifying all at once!”
It is worth noting that the company is the relatively new entrant in the e-commerce space. Despite its new comer status, it still managed to capture a fair amount of market share of the online market.
The most interesting data shared by the company was the number of smartphone users visiting their online store during Black Friday.
“I believe that our mobile user traffic was north of 80% (of the total traffic). Mobile devices have accelerated internet adaptation in Pakistan, it’s an affordable way to get online and stay connected” the statement continued.
Orient is following up its success on Black Friday by launching its own Cyber week sale, which starts from December 5th. The company plans to include a large amount of products during the sale and is offering free home shipping to customers.
Orient is not the only company that broke its previous record during Black Friday. We recently reported that Daraz crossed PKR 1 billion sales during Black Friday.
