It seems that K-Electric finally decides to launch a crackdown against defaulters and electricity thieves. The power utility recently came under the spotlight as it reports that the power utility decides to take stringent actions against defaulters and power thieves in various areas of the city.
Several reports indicate that the company plans to act against the some of the defaulters belonging to residential apartment complex in Clifton Block 2, Marine Drive, who owe millions of rupees to the company.
It is also reported that the KE team recently raided Zeenat Square, a resident apartment complex near Liaquatabad, most of the residents of which were found to be involved in electricity theft. The recent moves by the power utility indicates that the company is trying to upgrade its system.
“KE continues to eradicate power theft from all areas, especially those where resistance by the local residents is high. We have not confined our action to any specific locality; rather, we are taking action against defaulters without any discrimination in order to facilitate our loyal consumers,” KE spokesperson said in a statement.
The power utility is also encouraging its customers to show pay their bills on time and show willingness to improve the settle their outstanding bills. Adding to that, the company also set up camps in different areas of the city to facilitate its customers.
