It’s that time of the year when people in Karachi rush to Frere Hall to grab quick bites from their most favorite restaurants. Karachi Eat is a food shindig which is built around the idea to offer wide range of food items to Karachiites who love food. The event will commence tomorrow and will continue till Sunday at Frere Hall, which will turn into a food wonderland for 3 days of eating, drinking and entertainment.
Things already starts to get crazy as food vendors are making efforts to step up their game. The fest is bringing to Karachiites a blend of scrumptious edible delights from food vendors from all across the city.
For those who are wondering, there’s going to be Special Masala Chai, delicious Khao Suey, Brazilian Churros, Chai Paratha, and many other delectable food items to tease your taste buds. Also, there will be live performances by renowned singers like Zoe Viccaji, Jimmy Khan, Sounds of Kolachi, Natasha Humera Ejaz and Fuzon. The food shindig is not just a place for foodies but for talented chefs and food vendors too.

This time around, Karachi Eat is going to host 95 food stalls, said Omar Omari of CKO Event Architecture, the brains behind the event. “Some favorites returning are Bond Street Waffles, Breast and Loin, Fatso’s and some who have been with us from the first fest like Pantry, China Kitchen, the ever so popular Chapli Kabab House, to name a couple” said Omar.
The organizing committee of the event has also managed to get Careem and Uber on-board. Therefore, those who don’t have a ride, can go to Frere Hall at a flat rate of 250. It is also reported that organizers are trying to set up a shuttle service that will operate from Marriott Hotel road to Sind club. Hence, if you park your car at a distance, you can use the shuttle service to Karachi Eat. However, it is worth mentioning that this is still in work and organizers did not make any promises to offer shuttle service as of yet.
Moreover, last year’s event featured many innovative food items such as Chesse sandwiches and Nutella Gol Gappas. Hence, it is safe to assume that last year’s food extravaganza had set a higher expectation for this year’s food vendors to meet. Those planning to attend the event will have a chance to try wide range of food items such as shawarma, biryani, burger, and many other food items.
Speaking about how the food festival has evolved, Omar Omari said in a press statement, “We are quite excited to see all the new upcoming restaurants and businesses that evolve because of their participation at the festival. Karachi Eat is an iconic event and we are proud and excited that we are putting forward a positive image of our country.”
In any case, it is needless to say that the food shindig will attract Karachites to have quality family and friends time in a comfortable environment with an exquisite variety of food and other edible delights
