Finance Minister Senator Ishaq Dar, while praising the performance of Economic Affairs Division (EAD) on Thursday emphasized on the need to make disbursement of development funds more transparent and timely in order to reap maximum benefits from them.
The Minister stated this while chairing a meeting to review issues related to EAD, attended by many senior officials of the Ministry of Finance and Economic Affairs Division.
During the meeting, Ishaq Dar, briefed the participants on the portfolios of loans and grants and implementation status of the on-going projects under EAD, adding that authorities should diligently monitor progress of disbursements of loans and foreign grants for energy and infrastructure projects, and to make all efforts in order to utilize the funds sufficiently.
The Minister was briefed on the return and rehabilitation status of Temporarily Displaced People (TDP) of Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) and the aid distribution and utilization status of other projects that are being executed for this purpose.
The Finance Minister also praised the role all the stakeholders for allocating resources for safe return and rehabilitation of TDP families and reconstruction of the damaged areas in FATA.
