In order to promote entrepreneurship amongst women, Faisalabad Women Chamber of Commerce Industry (FWCCI) will hold seminars and workshops to enhance and build entrepreneurial skillset of women, said Robeena Amjad, President FWCCI. Female entrepreneurs who are working in different sectors will be promoted to develop and build their businesses in the future.
In order to kick-start the seminars and workshops, FWCCI will be conducting a comprehensive study in order to find out female entrepreneurs who are working in either an organized sector or an unorganized sector. At the start, the FWCCI will establish five committees after which more committees will also be set up for different sectors.
Female entrepreneurs from the unorganized sector will be promoted by the Chamber so that they can participate in business activities of Faisalabad. Robeena Amjad said that the handicraft sector needs special attention in this regard.
In order to review the performance, monthly review meetings will also be conducted by the executive members in which new goals will also be set and overall performance will be measured.
The chamber staff has been asked to contact a maximum number of female entrepreneurs who are running their businesses. Female entrepreneurs will be educated on entrepreneurial skills and awareness sessions will also be created.
Female population in Pakistan are currently not in the entrepreneurial picture which is currently dominated by the male counterparts. By providing such opportunities, young girls will get a chance to start their own businesses rather than looking out for jobs.
Not only will FWCCI help women entrepreneurs, they will also introduce an e-commerce system for women who can then sell their products online in domestic as well as international market, giving them the exposure that is currently missing in the small-business environment.
