It is recently reported that the CEO of Telenor LDI, Salman Malik, has joined Jazz (previously known as Mobilink) as head of Regulatory Affairs and Public Policy. At Jazz, Salman will be focusing on pro-active advocacy of the problems faced by the industry, especially in the Digital & Mobile Financial segments
Many tech gurus believe that Salman Malik’s experience could boost the efforts of Jazz to attract more subscribers to switch to its platform. He joined the company at a time when it is exploring new options to acquire competitive edge over its rivals.
Subsequently, it is believed that bringing Salman Malik on-board will help the company to achieve its market ventures because he has worked with various operators and regulators in the telecom industry. Before joining Telenor, he also worked with Ministry of Information Technology for some time.
During his eight years tenure at Telenor, he worked in various departments. Salman is known as a person who knows the industry inside out. Along with extensive knowledge about the regulatory policies that shape the telecom industry, Salman also managed the commercial sides of the business at Telenor.
Following the merger of Warid and Mobilink, competition in the country’s telecom industry has surged significantly. The recent moves made by Jazz indicate that the company is pretty serious towards positioning itself as a dominant player in the telecom industry.
