Daraz became the first online store to cross 1 Billion Rupee sale
As the ecommerce business is making huge strides in Pakistan, it would not be wrong to say that the competition between the market players is also on the horizon. However, it seems that Daraz finally managed to acquire a competitive edge over the other players in the e-commerce industry. It was recently reported that Daraz has secured the spot of the first ever online retail store to cross PKR 1 billion sale during the Black Friday event.
Subsequently, as per the stats shared by the company, almost 20% of the total online population of Pakistan visited the e-commerce platform during the Black Friday, which is a big milestone. The news has brought the retail giant under the spotlight as it finally manages to position itself as a leader in the online retail industry of Pakistan. Also, the company said that at one time, it experience the traffic 5x higher compared to the previous year.
Moreover, the online retail giant has made many efforts to create customer awareness about its discounted deals on Black Friday. For instance, the company takes up the mannequin challenge in a bid to boost their Black Friday sales. Adding to that, the sales momentum was unexpectedly high as the sales got off with a blistering start with orders equal to regular days in the first 10 seconds of the sale. Also, the online retail giant crossed last year’s sale and web traffic in only few hours into the Black Friday sale.

It is worth noting that Daraz was the first e-commerce platform that introduced the concept of Black Friday last year in Pakistan. This year, the whole country is in high spirits for Black Friday, and other online retailers also started to cash the idea. In any case, recent moves made by Daraz depict that it is planning to position itself as a dominant force in the online retail industry.
