Chinese firm stops working on power transmission line
Reports suggest that a leading Chinese firm has substantially slowed down work on the $2 billion 660kV high-voltage direct current (HDVC) transmission line from Lahore to Matiari because of several problems, such as differences with the government over size of a revolving fund.

Abid Omar, a concerned citizen who publishes Pakistan Air Quality Initiative data said that upon checking the air quality of Lahore, it has been revealed that fine particles – PM 2.5 – which are small enough to penetrate the lungs and the bloodstream have scaled up to 1,077 micrograms per cubic meter.
SECP cancels licenses of 93 brokers
The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) has canceled licenses of 93 brokers during 2016-17. The main reason behind all these cancellations were non-compliance with SECP’s various rules and regulations.
