An inauguration event for the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) website (cpecinfo.com) was held in Islamabad yesterday attended by the Chinese ambassador to Pakistan, Mr. Sun Wi Dong. According to Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed, the website will become a portal to disseminate information about the CPEC project to the public.
The Pakistan-China Institute (PCI) developed the site in collaboration with China Radio International (CRI), which will be run and maintained by both organizations.
At the event Chinese ambassador stated that approximately 10,000 Chinese citizens are working on 17 different projects of the CPEC in various capacity. In addition, The Pakistan-China Institute (PCI) in collaboration with China Radio International (CRI), developed a website of cpecinfo.com that will be run and maintained by both the organizations. In addition, the government is also preceding to boost the presence of CPEC project on social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.
“PCI has devised a comprehensive CPEC information collection and verification mechanism, which will involve the stakeholders of CPEC, enhance their knowledge about bilateral collaboration, and enrich their interaction for mutual gains,” said Mr. Sayed. As per the Senator, the website will help clear all the confusions and rumors about the country’s plan regarding CPEC.

Many experts believe that the CPEC project in its entirety has helped Pakistan in becoming a desired investment destination.
The megaproject, currently worth more than USD 45 billion, will enhance and elevate the economic relationship between China and Pakistan to new heights. The CPEC is almost 3000 kilometer long from the Xinjiang province to Gwadar port in Balochistan; with an infrastructure setup including railways, highways and pipelines that will help connect China with the rest of the world through Pakistan
