According to our source, Careem has acquired the on-demand parcel delivery service, Delivery ChaCha. This move indicates that the popular ride hailing service wishes to diversify its services and muster additional market share. It appears that Careem is making all these efforts to position itself as a market leader in the country’s ride hailing industry.
Like other similar acquisitions in Pakistan, the details of the agreement have not been revealed. However, the news itself is enough to ignite excitement among the users of Careem and Delivery ChaCha. Our source claims that Nashit Iqbal, founder of Delivery ChaCha, will also be joining Careem’s team.
Established in 2014, Delivery ChaCha claims to have delivered half a million orders, ranging from food, cinema tickets, and groceries to dropping off wedding cards to guests.
This news, after the launch of Careem’s bike service, indicates that the company is not only aiming to diversify its offerings but also willing to increase the number of its users.
Also, speculations are making rounds in the tech space that Careem is also planning to launch its own wallet service. With a bunch of new services, the on-demand ride hailing firm is widening its scope and striving to become a platform that offers multiple services under one roof.
