According to the report recently published by Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) the number of 3G and 4G users in the country surged to 37.57 million by the end of December 2016 compared to 36.41 million by November.
Subsequently, as the per the data published by PTA 3G/4G subscriber in the country increased from 29 million in 2015-2016 to 37 million by end December, which marks a surge of 8 million in only six months. Also, many reports have been swirling around that competition in telecom industry has increased significantly over the past year. Telecom giants seems to be making constant efforts to offer improved services in a bid to create traction among the users to switch to its platform.
Moreover, the recent report of PTA indicates that total number of 3G users of Mobilink, Zong and Telenor reached to 12.36 million, 7.134 million and 9.897 million by the end of December 2016 as compared to 12.148 million, 6.824 million and 9.504 million by the end of November respectively. Also, increase in the rate of internet penetration in the country has helped e-commerce industry to witness a significant surge.
Following a continuous decline over the past few months, Ufone also experienced an increase in 3G subscribers from 5.219 million in November to 5.305 million by end of December 2016. On the other hand, Warid also experienced a hike in its LTE subscribers increased from 635,054 by the end of November 2016 to 637,363 by end of December 2016.
In any case, irrespective of few hiccups, it seems that 3G/4G services in Pakistan are all ready to create massive waves in the country with telecom companies striving to make their mark in the industry by offering improved services on their platforms.
